Helping you in resort
Our chalet hosts and experienced resort management team are on hand to book additional ski lessons, to advise on the range of non-ski activities available, and to make sure that it is easy for you to access any facilities that you may need during the week.
What we have found over the years is that the real benefit of having a big team on the ground (with more than one team member for every four guests) is that we are well resourced to deal with the unexpected - lost equipment, injuries, a need to return home early etc.
While our chalets are well located to give you convenient access to ski lifts and town facilities, we also offer a complimentary shuttle service to make it even easier for you to get about in resort. This service is available in the morning to bring you to the equipment shop and again in the afternoon to bring you back to your chalet. As the service varies across resorts, please review full details below.
Highlife Shuttle Service in Morzine:
All Highlife chalets are an easy walk to the lifts and town centre so there is no need to get a shuttle bus (called a Navette locally) to/from your chalets.
To make it even easier for you to get around however (particularly if you are with children), we also provide a complimentary Highlife shuttle service every morning from your chalet door to the ski shop (08.30-10:00) and every afternoon/evening (16:00-19:00) to bring you home again.
The evening service is on-call from anywhere in town. If two parties are looking for a lift at the same time, there may be a small wait or we may look to merge the two parties. The driver will have a mobile phone that you will be given the number of upon arrival in resort.
If there are more than 8 people who require a shuttle at the same time, there will be a second run or a second bus as each bus seats 8 passengers.
Highlife Shuttle Service in Meribel:
While many of our guests in Meribel get to and from the slopes under their own steam, we offer a shuttle service from 08.30 – 11.00 and 16.00 – 19.30 (Monday to Saturday) plus a drop into town after dinner if requested.
This service is on-call and is an ideal way to get around the resort easily so that you can save your energy for the slopes.
This service is free to all our guests and was introduced to complement the local free bus (which runs from about 8am to midnight), and the Olympic Cable Car (which runs from 8am to 6pm) for guests in either Chalet Elodie or Chalet Carine.
At 21.30 every evening (except for the chef's day off), your host will be available after dinner service to drop you to the centre of town should you wish to.
Highlife Shuttle Service in Val d'Isere:
Every morning we offer a Highlife shuttle bus from your chalet to the snow square in the centre of Val d'Isere - this is the main meeting point for lessons and is also where the main chairlifts depart from. This service is available from 08.30-10:00.
There is also an evening call out shuttle service between 17.30-19.00 from the centre of town (not available on Thursdays). On school holiday weeks, we will offer a 16.30–19.00 evening call out service. Please note that shuttles cannot be offered outside of these times.
If there are more than 8 people who require a shuttle at the same time, there will be a second run as the bus only seats 8 passengers. Your chalet host will ask people to coordinate departures so that they minimise the driving time required.
Guests can also use the local free bus service (there is a stop 250m from your chalet door). The bus is on a continuous loop of the resort and passes by approximately every 5 minutes. The drive from your chalet to the centre of town takes 4 minutes.
The last regular bus home in the evenings to the chalet leaves at approximately 12 midnight, and then there is a bus at 1am and a bus at 2am. Please note that for departures prior to December 21, the last bus back to Le Fornet is at approximately 10pm. Taxis are available for guests who may wish to stay out later.
“This is my 3rd year with Highlife and I can't imagine going with another tour operator. This is entirely due to the efforts of the chalet team who were amazingly professional and courteous all week.”
